Warrior is an American sports drama film directed by Gavin O'Connor. This action packed movies sure to keep you on your seat couldn't have been possible without a strong cast such as Tom Hardy (Tommy Conlon/Tommy Riordan), Joel Edgerton (Brendan Conlon), Nick Nolte (Paddy Conlon), Jennifer Morrison (Tess Conlon), Kurt Angle (Koba), Frank Grillo (Frank Campana), Kevin Dunn (Joe Zito), Denzel Whitaker (Stephon), Erik Apple (Pete "Mad Dog"Grimes), Nate Marquardt (Karl Kruller) and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson (Orlando "Midnight" Lee).

This powerful movie begins with former U.S Marine Tommy Riordan (Tom Brady) visits his father Paddy (Nick Nolte)a recovering alcoholic who became a christian. Tommy is not happy with his fathers formerly abusive behavior but Paddy was unable to convince him that he had changed. The following day Tommy goes to a nearby gym that he used to know as a child to do abit of training but ends up beating Pete "Mad Dog" Grimes a professional UFC fighter during a sparing match. This fight was filmed with a cell phone and was later uploaded to the internet. Tommy learns of an up coming tournament called Sparta were the price fund is $5,000,000 so he asks his father to train him so he can try and win to provide for the family of his fallen comrade.

Mean while Paddy's older son Brendan Conlon (Joel Edgerton) a high school physics teacher and former UFC fighter is finding it hard to pay the bills to provide for his wife Tess (Jennifer Morrison) and 2 daughters and looking at the possibility of his housed been foreclosed. Brendan tries doing afew amateur fights to earn some extra cash but ends up getting suspended without pay from teaching because of rumors spreading the he is participating in dangerous activities. Now completely out of income Brendan has no option to go back in as a professional UFC fighter. He goes to an old friend Frank Campana (Frank Grillo) a trainer and begins to fight in smaller venue fights. After Franks top fighter gets injured Brendan convinces Frank to let him take his place in the Sparta tournament.

Meanwhile in Iraq a marine saw the video of Tommy beating "Mad Dog" and realised that Tommy was the marine that saved him and afew others a couple of months prior by ripping a door off a tank they were trapped in a river. This information was soon leaked to the press and Tommy quickly became a national hero. But through all this they also find out that Tommy went AWOL after his comrades were killed by mistake during action by American troops who didn't know they were US Marines. Tommy took his mothers maiden name so he could evade arrest but military police are going to take him into custody after the tournament. The relationship between Brebdan and Tommy was intense because when they decided to take their mother and leave their abusive father when they were kids Brendan stayed behind with his girlfriend now wife and left his younger brother Tommy take care of their mother as a kid. While trying to look after his mother she died of an illness but never told Brendan or his father.

After afew intense battles Brendan and Tommy meet in the final but quickly comes in Tommy's favour with rage from their childhood. Brendan then dislocates Brendan shoulder in a rear naked choke but in anger Tommy would still not give up. while they are struggling on the mat, Brendan tearfully tells Tommy that he loves him he is sorry, after abit of hesitation Tommy taps out. The end scene leaves with the two brothers leaving the ring Tommy in tears and Brendan's arms around him while their father looks on with a smile on his face.

This movie is certainly going to have you at the edge of your seat and will show the true meaning of what family means to you and what you would do for them !!
